Went to watch Paranormal Activities the other day at Summit USJ, along with Nic and 2 of my colleagues, Dal and Joan. Dal had seen the movie before, and kept insisting that it's a 'must see' for anyone as interested in supernatural entities as myself. So we met up one evening when all of us weren't working, and watched the movie together (scary movies should never be watched alone). XD
If you haven't seen this movie yet, my recommendation is: Watch it!
90% of the movie was shown through the lens of a home videocam ala The Blair Witch Project style. However, it wasn't quite as jerky or nauseating. To me anyway. It was also seemed to be in rather low quality, home movie style...because that's what it was supposed to be. The buildup of the movie was slow at first, introducing the main characters, showing how they interacted with each other, and giving a short history of how the female protagonist first encountered this demon that was following her. The most interesting thing to see was their bedroom door moving on its own in the middle of the night and her boyfriend being a total ass.
However, things really started picking up later on, and the slow pace of the movie is justified. She gets up in the middle of the night to stand beside the bed staring at her boyfriend for an hour or so, then goes outside on her own and sits for (presumably) another few hours despite the cold. And though this is all caught on tape, she doesn't remember a single thing. Then the glass from a photo frame containing their photo is broken, with scratches across the boyfriend's face, on the inside of the shards of glass which still cling to the frame. The girl even feels the thing breathing on her, and when the camera pans to include her in the frame, we can see a lock of her hair moving on its own as if blown by something, which causes her to finally break and run downstairs.
There are other things which occur, but I won't spoil the movie for you by revealing it here just in case you haven't watched the movie yet. But trust me, the ending is the best part. Muahahahahahaha.....
