2 Sardines In A Can...

Sorry, this post was supposed to have been posted on the 4th of March. As usual, I've been very lax with my posts recently.

Well, we managed to fit almost everything inside the small room. The mattress fits, all our clothes sort of fit, the many assortments of toiletries and self care products fit too, and there's even space for a mid sized coffee table which holds my laptop, books, letters and various other items. It is nothing short of amazing how compact things are now.

Where once I thought we had trouble fitting all our things into the middle room, I am still in disbelief that despite cramming everything into every spare inch of space we have, she still let me have some precious space on the coffee table for my junk. Heheh. I know my baby's done alot to reassure me that the move isn't quite so bad, and she sacrificed alot so that I wouldn't feel too miserable about being crowded into such a small area. In addition, I didn't do very much over the entire moving period because I was at work most of the time. When I went home one day, everything was magically all set up. It was as if we had pixie-fairies at home doing all the work.  XD

(Just kidding just kidding don't pinch me Nic!)

Advertisement Break: ZzzZZzzZzZzzZZzZZzzzz....sorry fell asleep while at my desk...this is why its so difficult to finish my posts sometimes! hohoho! :P

In any case, we're all moved in now and all that's left is the tidying up of the remaining bits and pieces scattered around the living room in the aftermath of the move. Despite my whining and moaning, the whole moving thing isn't quite as bad as it seems. After all, we have 4 new people in the house so it's rarely empty. The 2 girls staying in the middle room are turning out to be rather nice people. From what Nic told me, they're both young accounting clerks. In addition, from what I've observed, they're pretty simple people and get along very well with each other, if their frequent shrieks of laughter are any indication.

On the other hand, the sisters (or one of the sisters, anyway), are starting to rub us the wrong way. They keep to themselves alot, and rarely exit their room except to go to the kitchen area or leave the house. So far, they've been tardy with their deposit payments despite confirming their tenancy many weeks ago. Then, the younger sister almost jammed the lock on the front door 2 days ago because she was talking on the phone and wasn't paying attention to what she was doing when she turned the key the wrong way. The younger sister reminds me of someone I know...however I can't quite place my finger on who that is....and whether that reminder is a good thing or not.

Finally, the last bit of news from my 'oh-so-not-exciting-life'. I've finally finished the last bit of available credit on my blasted P1 W1max prepaid account which I received free with my laptop. I had 4 more days left on the validity on the credit but I couldn't be fucked because the damn connection really is crap. One minute it'll be fine, the next minute I can't even load Gmail. So I *ahem* 'borrowed' (re: kidnapped) the wireless router from my aunt and uncle's house because they weren't using it, hooked it up, and am now sharing Nic's Streamyx connection with her and the 2 girls in the middle room. It's not as blazing fast as it was previously, but it's nowhere near as bad as P1 either.

So since I don't have to worry about counting my kilobyte usage anymore, I went hunting for a new website to replace my beloved forum.tvfreeload.com (RIP), which has been shut down. So far I've found one I'm quite satisfied with. Not only does it have the usual movies and tv shows, but it also has games and ebooks! (Yes, I'm a nerd) So I'm very very satisfied for the time being.

Change...

...is something that I try as much as possible to avoid. The more change...the more I try to resist. Some people would say that's not a good thing, that change is good, and maybe it is, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it. I guess there're pros and cons to everything that occurs.

Ever since Nic and I got together almost 4 months ago, and I unofficially (at the time) moved in to her condo, we've pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. She did have a housemate at the time, but that girl was around so rarely she might as well not have been there. We hardly noticed when she moved out, it was such a non-event. Since then, we've been unable to rent out the rooms despite putting adverts into several different websites. Being that she has strict rules when renting out rooms to potential tenants (they need to be female chinese only), it does narrow the possibilities down somewhat. There were a number of calls, however most were from guys or non-chinese. Several other calls were from people who proclaimed interest, who made us run around cleaning up our messes because they suddenly wanted to come view the rooms...and then never showed up. (Bloody Bastards!)

Despite all that, there's been a real flood of interested tenants recently, all looking for last minute accomodation. I mean, if you want to move in in March, shouldn't you be looking for a place much, much earlier? About a few weeks ago, we successfully rented out the master bedroom to 2 sisters. That was a drama and a half in itself! One minute they're so hard up for the room that they insist to pay a deposit right then and there. Several days later, they're calling to ask if they can have the deposit back because they wanna get a whole unit with their friend. I mean like, dudes, make up your mind, can? Then they wanna think about it. Then they finally decide to stay.

In the mean time, there's another girl who says she wants to take up the small room. We think, 'Perfect. We can take the middle room then, and have a full house'. And then, 30 minutes after she was supposed to arrive to view the room, Nic calls to ask where she is and she's inconsiderate enough to say that she isn't coming because her girlfriend might want to see the place too and they'll only come view it after the Chinese New Year. And like an afterthought, she tells us that, oh, she might be taking the middle room instead. I mean, what the hell, man?

So she finally calls a couple of days ago and says she's back in town and she's changed her mind and wants to come view the single room the next day. She also wanted to move in a couple of days before the 1st of March with no extra rent. We're like, 'oooookay...sure' and Nic goes on to explain the usual rental stuff like deposits and such. Then later on that evening, she texts and says she wanted to move some of her stuff on that very same day, without ever having seen the room, and that she'll pay half of the deposit first, and the rest when she officially moves in on the 1st. We're like, 'huh', and basically agree to her request, however with the condition that we're unable to handover any keys to the house or room before the deposit's paid in full. After that, she never replied any texts or answered any calls Nic made to her until today.Honestly, I'm amazed at Nic's level of patience.

Then sometime yesterday (I was working so I dunno), Nic gets another call to view the middle room, and arranges a time. When I get home, there are 2 girls in the condo checking out the place already. Once they've left, I ask Nic what she thinks of them. "Doesn't look like they're gonna take the room," she says. Since we need to clear out our stuff from the master room by that night itself cuz the 2 sisters are coming to clean the room the next day, we have dinner and start moving our stuff to the middle room. After a few hours of sneezing from the dust and rearranging out stuff in the much smaller room, we're both bone tired. So around 11+ pm, we decided to shower and go to bed.

Things look good. We've managed to move most of our stuff into the new room and everything is arranged pretty nicely. However, that pleasant feeling wasn't destined to last very long. Just as I flop onto the bed, Nic exclaims, "Oh fuck! One of the new girls messaged me at about 10ish and said they're gonna take the middle room". >.<"

And so the exodus begins again...this time into a tiny closet of a room...shaped in such a way that the door only opens a crack when there's a queen sized mattress on the floor and I dunno if there's enough space for all our stuff.

Wish me luck. Cuz I'm scared that it'll only take a miracle to fit all our stuff in. Lol.

Eww...

Someone made me clean the house toilets today...thankfully there were only 2. I'm so tired and wet (with water!). All the strength has gone out of my right arm. Thankfully, it isn't my 'business' arm. ^.^

Just read a friend's latest blog post. Her house was just broken into for the 2nd time in just over a year. Poor thing. I wanna help, but I don't really know how. Right now what she needs most is a cheap place to stay. Suggestions, anyone?

I've been finding myself unusually grumpy recently too. Which is probably the reason why I keep arguing with someone. Its not really her fault too. I admit, she can be difficult to live with sometimes, and so can I, but still, there's gotta be a solution to it. Perhaps I'm just extremely irritable, which probably means I'm due some quiet time to myself. However, she keeps talkinggggg....... >.<"

I realised that the Fishie widget that I am so fascinated with doesn't work right when viewed from my laptop (I installed it at work when I was setting up the blog...it was a slow day for me :P). Its quite frustrating when something I like doesn't work the way I want it to. Which probably explains why I'm having so many problems with...everything!
